C.L. Soo, M.D.
Education & Certification
Dr. Soo earned his Master of Science degree in exercise physiology from the University of Kentucky in 1985. He worked as a physical therapist from 1985 to 1993 and continued his studies at the University of Kentucky, obtaining his medical degree in 1993. Dr. Soo completed an orthopedic residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 1998 before completing a Spine Fellowship at the University of Louisville and Tulane University. During his fellowship, his training was focused exclusively on the treatment of the spine. Dr. Soo’s extensive training and experience enables him to provide surgical and nonsurgical treatment for the entire spectrum of spinal conditions. As a member of the Orthopedic Institute team, he is committed to providing each patient with the best individualized care plan and will take the time needed to explain all treatment options and answer any questions you may have. In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Soo is passionate about education. He is involved in research to develop better treatment methods for spinal conditions including physical therapy and advanced surgical procedures. As an advocate for continuing medical education, he has completed over 325 hours of additional medical education, presented papers at major orthopedic surgery conferences, and lectured to peers on treatment of the spine.
