The Pain Management CenterPain is a complex medical problem that can have profound effects on your physical and mental well-being. In fact, chronic pain affects an estimated 86 million American adults to some degree. The Pain Management Center at the Orthopedic Institute was established to treat individuals who suffer from acute and chronic disabling pain. Our goal is to help you decrease your level of pain and suffering, to return you to your maximum level of functioning and independence and to help restore your quality of life. Our comprehensive network of board-certified physicians and staff are committed to working directly with referring physicians as a team – providing patients with the most advanced pain management treatment available. Most patients who are referred for service will receive an initial evaluation by one of our pain management specialists. The evaluation includes a complete medical history, review of medical records and a detailed report of findings, including diagnosis and a proposed treatment plan. Patients needing further diagnostic studies for complaints of pain may receive additional diagnostic services, such as:
After the initial evaluation, a treatment program is individually developed for each case. The treatment is directed at relieving pain and teaching the patient how to manage the pain, with the goal of increasing the ability to work and carry out a normal lifestyle.
